The owner of a 2002 Honda Accord contacted the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department to report their vehicle was stolen from a grocery store parking lot. The victim stated he returned to his Honda and observed broken glass on the ground where his Honda was parked. The victim further advised the responding officers that he has LoJack installed in the Honda. The LVMPD verified the auto theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Honda.

A short time late, officers from the LVMPD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Honda with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Honda observing it to be occupied. The driver was taken into custody and arrested for Grand Larceny. The Honda was recovered and released back to the owner.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Honda Accord in January 2002 by Norm Reeves Honda in Huntington Beach, California.
