The owners of a 2007 Toyota Tundra pickup contacted the Houston Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from their residential driveway during the previous night.
The Houston PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Toyota Tundra.

A short while later Texas Department of Public Safety air ship unit 102 picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Tundra pickup with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the aircrew tracked the Tundra to an apartment complex where the pickup was parked under heavy tree foliage. The aircrew directed a Houston PD patrol unit to the general area and the officer tracked and located the Tundra backed into a parking space with the front license plate removed.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Toyota Tundra pickup in July 2007 by the original owner at Fred Haas Toyota in Spring, Texas.
