The owner of a 2008 Suzuki GSX600 contacted the Oxnard Police Department to report that his motorcycle was stolen. The Suzuki was parked in a parking lot at the beach. The owner observed the suspect drive away on his Suzuki.

Officers from the Oxnard Police Department verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Suzuki.

A short time later, patrol deputies from the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Suzuki with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the deputies tracked the Suzuki to the area of Sunset Drive and Victoria Ave. Investigators from VenCATT (Ventura County Auto Theft Task Force) responded to the area and were able to pinpoint the location of the stolen motorcycle to a residential garage in the area of the 300 block of Sunset. The investigators made phone contact with the suspects, who returned to the residence. A search warrant was obtained and served at the location. The stolen motorcycle was recovered and two suspects were taken into custody for auto theft related charges without incident.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Suzuki in July 2008 by Del Amo Motorsports in Redonda Beach, CA.
