The owner of this Volkswagen was asleep when a burglar entered the house located in the 22700 block of 4th Avenue West in Bothell.  She was awakened to find a man holding a knife.  The suspect took her purse and the keys to the Volkswagen and then fled.

The crime was immediately reported to the Bothell Police Department who verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Volkswagen.
Later that day, a Mill Creek Police Department officer picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen GTI on the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following directional and audible cues from the PTC, he located the GTI at an apartment complex in the 15000 block of 35th Avenue Southeast.  The GTI was abandoned and was processed for evidence.  The investigation is continuing.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Volkswagen GTI in March 2009 by Parr Imports in Bremerton, Washington.
