LoJack® System Helps Riverside County Sheriff’s Department Recover a Stolen GMC Sierra

The owner of a GMC Sierra pickup contacted the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department to report that his vehicle was stolen in the city of Perris.

The Riverside County SD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the GMC.

Within 18 minutes, deputies from the Riverside County SD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen GMC with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the deputies tracked the GMC to the 2300 block of Hemlock Ave. A short while later one suspect was seen hiding near the area and taken into custody for vehicle theft and possession of stolen property.

The LoJack® System was installed in the GMC Sierra in September 2003 by Moreno Valley GMC Buick in California.
