The owners of a 2005 BMW 530I contacted the California Highway Patrol North Sacramento Area to report that their vehicle was stolen. The victim stated they came out of their apartment to go shopping and discovered the BMW was stolen from their apartment parking lot.
The CHP verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the BMW.

Less than 20 minutes later officers from the Sacramento Police Department, Sacramento Sheriff’s Department and CHP Air-21 picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen BMW with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the BMW to the area of 4th and Santa Cruz Streets in Sacramento. The officers observed the BMW parked on the street and abandoned.
The BMW was intact and the owner was called and responded to take possession of their vehicle.

The LoJack® System was installed in the BMW 530I in July 2007 by Premier Chrysler Jeep in Decatur, GA.
