The owners of a 2015 Honda Accord contacted the Alameda County Sheriff’s Department to report that their vehicle was stolen. The victim exited their apartment to go to work and discovered the vehicle had been stolen sometime during the night.

The Alameda SD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Honda.

A short while later, officers from the Oakland Police Department and the Alameda SD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Honda with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Honda to the 2200 block of 166th Ave in San Leandro. The officers observed the Honda parked and abandoned on the street. The Honda was intact and did not sustain any damage.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Honda Accord in January 2015 by Honda of Hayward in California.
