LoJack® System Helps Utah Motor Vehicle Enforcement Division Recover Stolen 2013 Honda Pilot

The California owners of a 2013 Honda Pilot contacted the Cottonwood Heights Police Department to report that their vehicle had been stolen while visiting Utah.
An officer verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Honda Pilot.
Later officers with Salt Lake City Police Department, Utah Highway Patrol and Utah Motor Vehicle Enforcement Division picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Honda with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, an officer with the MVED tracked the Honda to the area of 2200 S Foothill Drive about 8-miles north of where the vehicle had been taken.
A surveillance was initiated to see if the suspect(s) would return to the Honda and when they did not the vehicle was recovered and returned to the very happy travelers.
The LoJack® System was installed in the Honda Pilot in October 2013 by Marin Honda in San Rafael, California.
