LoJack® System Helps Salt Lake City Police Department Recover Stolen 2007 Lincoln MKZ

Just after midnight the owners of a 2007 Lincoln MKZ contacted the Salt Lake City Police Department to report that their vehicle had been stolen.
An officer verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Lincoln.
Less than 20 minutes later officers with the Salt Lake City PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Lincoln with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officer tracked the Lincoln to the area of 1700 S & 400 E.
At that location officers found that the suspects had damaged the dashboard of the car in an attempt to remove the stereo. The quick response by the police may have been why the attempted removal of the stereo was not successful. The Lincoln was recovered and later returned to the owners.
The LoJack® System was installed in the Lincoln in October 2006 by Galpin Jaguar Lincoln Volvo in Van Nuys, California, at the request of the first owners of the car.
