Just after midnight the owners of a 2013 Honda Accord contacted the Lakewood Police Department to report that their vehicle had been stolen from their home.

The police verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Accord.

Minutes later officers with the Northglenn Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Honda with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.

Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Honda to the area of the 2700 block of West 103rd Avenue, which is about 16 miles north of where the theft had occurred.  The Honda was found unoccupied by officers and was secured for the safe return to the very grateful owners.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Honda Accord less than two years ago at the request of the owners to protect their vehicle by Groove Toyota in Englewood, Colorado.
