The owners of a Toyota Corolla contacted the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department to report that their vehicle was stolen in the unincorporated area of Riverside.

The Riverside County SD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Toyota.

Within 20 minutes Deputies from the Riverside County SD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Toyota with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the Deputies tracked the Toyota to a residential neighborhood located at the 33000 block of Gypsum Street. After further investigation, one suspect was identified, arrested for vehicle theft and possession of stolen property.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Toyota Corolla in September 2005 by Power Toyota in Buena Park, California.
