LoJack® System Helps San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Recover Stolen Honda Civic

The owners of a 2009 Honda Civic contacted the Redlands Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen. The Honda was last seen parked at work. The keys were discovered missing.
The Redlands PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Honda.
A short time later, patrol deputies from the San Bernardino Sheriff’s Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Honda with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the deputies tracked the Honda to the area of the 3400 block of North Cajon Blvd. The deputies observed the stolen Honda through a chain link fence. Deputies conducted an investigation at the scene. A female suspect was located and taken into custody for auto theft related charges without incident. Three other suspects were interviewed and taken into custody for possession of a firearm and drugs for sale.
The Honda was impounded for safe keeping.
The LoJack® System was installed in the Honda in August 2009 by Rock Honda in Fontana, California.
