The owners of a 2011 Mercedes Benz contacted the San Diego Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen in the city of San Diego.

The San Diego PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Mercedes.

A short while later, officers from the Chula Vista Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Mercedes Benz with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Mercedes to a residential neighborhood located near the 800 block of Riverlawn Drive in Chula Vista.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Mercedes Benz in January 2014 by Mercedes Benz of San Diego in California.
