The owners of a 2007 Lexus contacted the Culver City Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen.

The Culver City PD officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Lexus.

Eighteen (18) minutes later, patrol deputies from the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department Malibu Station picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Lexus with the on board LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in their patrol and air units.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the deputies began tracking the Lexus. With the assistance of their Air Unit, the Lexus was located in the area of Pacific Coast Highway and Big Rock Drive.  The deputies conducted a traffic stop and took two suspects into custody for auto theft related charges.

The Lexus was impounded for safe keeping.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Lexus in August 2006 at Keyes Lexus in Van Nuys, California.
