The owners of a 2011 Audi Q7 SUV contacted the Anne Arundel County Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from the intersection of 7700 Crystal Brook Way in the Hanover area of Anne Arundel County, Maryland.

The Anne Arundel County PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Audi. A short while later officers from the District of Columbia Metropolitan Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Audi with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in their patrol vehicles. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Audi to the 3100 block 13th Street NW in Washington, DC. At that location, officers observed the Audi parked and unoccupied. Officers recovered the undamaged Audi and notified the owner.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2011 Audi Q7during October 2010 at Herb Chambers Porsche/Audi in Burlington, Massachusetts.
