LoJack® System Helps San Diego County Sheriff’s Department Recover Stolen Dodge Durango

The owner of a Dodge Durango contacted the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department to report that his vehicle was stolen from his residence in the city of Descanso.
The San Diego County SD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Dodge.
Within 30 minutes deputies from San Diego County SD and officers from the San Diego Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Dodge with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the deputies tracked the Dodge to a commercial area located at the 4200 block of Palm Street in La Mesa. A traffic stop was initiated by a San Diego PD K-9 unit and four suspects were arrested. The suspects had previous no bail warrants for controlled substance, vehicle theft and parole violation.
The Dodge was previously stolen twice in San Diego County in 2014; the Dodge was tracked and recovered both times by the LoJack® System.
The LoJack® System was installed in the Dodge Durango in September 2004 at Moss Motors Dodge in Riverside, California.
