The owners of a 2007 Audi contacted the San Diego Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen in the city of San Diego.

The San Diego PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Audi.

A short while later officers from the San Diego PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Audi with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Audi to a residential neighborhood located in the 10000 block of Esmeraldas Drive in San Diego. Two individuals were observed inside the Audi; both were arrested without incident for vehicle theft and possession of stolen property.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Audi-A4 in May 2009 at Miramar Volkswagen-Audi in San Diego, California.
