LoJack® System Helps Sacramento Police Department Recover Stolen Subaru Forester

The owners of a 2005 Subaru Forester contacted the Sacramento Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen. The victims parked the Subaru in a mall parking lot and when they returned the vehicle was gone.

The Sacramento PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Subaru.

Less than 10 minutes later, officers from the Sacramento PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Subaru with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Subaru to the area of 36th Street and 4th Avenue in Sacramento. The officers observed the Subaru parked to the rear of an apartment building. The Subaru was abandoned and no suspects were seen.

The victim was contacted and responded to the scene to take possession of their Subaru.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Subaru Forester in March 2005 at Bob Baker Chevrolet in El Cajon, California.
