LoJack® System Helps Miami-Dade Police Department Recover a Stolen 2006 Mack CV series dump truck

The owner of a 2006 White Mack CV series dump truck contacted the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office to report their truck stolen. The Charlotte County SO verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Mack dump truck.

Immediately upon activation, a Miami-Dade Police Department officer picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Mack dump truck on their on-board LoJack Police Tracking Computer (PTC).  The officer began tracking the stolen Mack by following the directional and audible cues on their PTC screen as well as an issued “B.O.L.O.” (BE ON LOOK OUT) for the Mack. A short time later, auto theft detectives from the Miami-Dade PD Northside District picked up the signal and located the Mack parked unoccupied near southeast 10 Avenue and 11th Street, Hialeah. The dump truck was recovered, towed to the police impound yard for safekeeping, and removed from federal and state crime computer systems.  It should be noted that this Mack was stolen once before and was recovered as well using the LoJack Stolen Vehicle Recovery System in Miami in July 2014.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2006 Mack CV series dump truck in April 2006 at Steele Truck Center in Fort Myers, Florida.
