The owners of a 2010 Land Rover contacted the DeKalb County Police Department to report that his vehicle was taken while he and his family were watching a movie at a local mall. The DeKalb PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Land Rover.

Within a short time of the LoJack activation a DeKalb County PD officer equipped with a LoJack Police Tracking Computer (PTC) began to pick up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Land Rover with the PTC that were installed in the police car.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officer tracked the Land Rover to an apartment complex where it was found hidden behind an abandoned building.

After speaking to the person in the area, the Land Rover came in earlier in the night with two people inside and they got into another vehicle and drove off. The officer called a detective to the location for prints and to check for suspects.

The owner did not know that his Land Rover was equipped with a LoJack tracking unit but was very glad that it did.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Land Rover in November 2009 at Hennessy Land Rover-Buckhead, Georgia.
