The owners of a Chevrolet Cavalier contacted the Phoenix Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from the parking lot of their apartment complex.

The police verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Chevrolet.

Four minutes later officers from the Phoenix PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Chevrolet with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Chevrolet to an apartment complex parking lot near 21st Avenue and Dunlap Avenue.

The Chevy Cavalier was found unoccupied in the parking lot.  During the investigation, a suspect was identified and located in an apartment at this complex.  The suspect was an acquaintance of the Chevrolet owners.  The suspect was interviewed and released pending further investigation.  The Chevrolet was recovered and returned to the owners in good condition.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Chevrolet Cavalier in September 2008 at Camelback Toyota in Phoenix, Arizona.
