In the morning a Northern California GM dealership discovered that 4– 2015 Chevrolet Camaro SS’s were stolen from their new car lot.

The Pittsburg Police Department verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in 2 of the Camaros.  (The other 2 Camaros were not equipped with the LoJack® System.)

A few hours later the Alameda County Auto Theft Detectives picked up the silent LoJack signal from one of the stolen Camaros with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, detectives located 2 stolen Camaros in a garage in Oakland CA. (1 Camaro with the LoJack® System and 1 without.)  Both cars were partially stripped. A Parolee was arrested for running a Chop-Shop.  The second LoJack® System equipped Camaro was recovered by Pittsburg Police with their PTC. That vehicle was abandoned on the street with only the seats missing.

The LoJack® System was installed in both 2015 Chevrolet Camaro’s in January 2015 at a North California GM Dealership.
