The owners of a 2008 Chrysler 300 contacted the Fairfield Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen. The victim stated the Chrysler was taken sometime during the night while parked.

The Fairfield Police Department verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Chrysler.

The next afternoon officers with the Vacaville Police Department and deputies with the Solano County Sheriff’s Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Chrysler with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Chrysler to a liquor store parking lot in the 800 block of Markham Ave in the City of Vacaville. They observed the Chrysler unattended, sat back and waited hoping the thief would return. Minutes later a male suspect exited the liquor store and entered the driver’s side of the stolen Chrysler. Officers immediately swooped in and took the suspect into custody without incident. The driver was arrested and booked for auto theft and an unrelated felony warrant out of Sonoma County.

The Chrysler was towed to be released to the owner later.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Chrysler 300 in May 2009.
