The owners of a 2004 BMW 530 contacted the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Department to report that their vehicle was stolen. The vehicle was taken from the victim’s residence near El Dorado Hills sometime during the night.

El Dorado Sheriff’s Department verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the BMW. Investigators noted the vehicle was described as being involved in several crimes since it was stolen.

Less than 30 minutes later being entered as stolen, officers from the Citrus Heights Police and the Sacramento SO picked up the silent LoJack® homing signals from the stolen BMW with the LoJack® Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the vehicle to the area of Greenback Lane and Sunrise Bl. The officers observed the vehicle being driven and conducted a felony traffic stop. Three suspects were taken into custody.

Investigators from El Dorado SD, responded and took custody to the arrestees and had the vehicle impounded to be processed for prints.
The LoJack® System was installed in the BMW 530 in January 2007.
