The owners of a 2010 Hyundai Accent contacted the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department-Santa Clarita Station to report that their vehicle was stolen.

LASD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Hyundai Accent.

Soon after, Pasadena PD “PD 1” flight officers picked up the silent signals from the LoJack® System installed on the stolen Hyundai on the LoJack® Police Tracking Computers installed in their Air Units. Following the directional and audible cues from the LoJack® computers, the vehicle was tracked to the area of the 155 block of West California Street. Pasadena PD patrol officers responded to the area and observed the vehicle parked in a super market parking lot. Three suspects were observed entering the vehicle. Patrol units parked behind the stolen vehicle, conducting a felony traffic stop. The suspects were taken into custody for auto theft related charges without incident.

The vehicle was impounded for safe keeping.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2010 Hyundai on 03/30/10 at Parkway GMC-Cadillac-Pontiac-Buick, in the city of Valencia, CA.
