The owner of this Volkswagen CC contacted Montclair PD and reported that their vehicle had been stolen from a shopping mall. The police verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Volkswagen.

9 minutes after the vehicle was entered as stolen, Ontario PD Air-10 flight officers picked up the silent LoJack® homing signals from the stolen Volkswagen with the LoJack® Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, Air-10 tracked the vehicle from the area of 4th St and Berlin for several miles then directed ground units to the area of E. St and Dahlia where a felony traffic stop was initiated resulting in the driver being detained.  The driver was later arrested and booked on felony charges.  The vehicle was stored and later returned to the owner, undamaged. The case was referred to station detectives for follow up.

The LoJack® Stolen Vehicle Recovery System was installed in this Volkswagen in April 2013.
