The owners of a 2013 Himoinsa Generator contacted Colonie Town PD to report their equipment was stolen when the generator was leased to an individual with forged documents and was never returned.

Colonie Town PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers (NYSPIN/ NCIC) which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Himoinsa generator.

A while later detectives from NYPD’s Auto  Crime Division picked up the silent LoJack® homing signals from the stolen generator with the LoJack® Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the detectives tracked and located the stolen generator stored in a gated lot on Glenmore Ave. between Elton St. & Linwood St. in the confines of Brooklyn’s 75th Precinct. Surveillance was setup for several hours with negative results.  The owner was eventually contacted and the undamaged generator was returned to a very happy owner at the recovery location.  An investigation of this incident has identified the primary suspect and a warrant has been issued for his arrest by Colonie PD.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Himoinsa generator in May 2013.
