LoJack® System Helps Union County Police Department Recover a Stolen 2009 Toyota Tacoma

The owners of a 2009 Toyota Tacoma contacted the Elizabeth Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen.  The owners were at a job site parked in front of a house on Lafayette Street in the City of Elizabeth. While working in the house, someone drove off with the 2009 Toyota Tacoma.

The Elizabeth City Police Department verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the 2009 Toyota Tacoma.

A short while later, officers from the Union County Police Department picked up the silent LoJack® homing signals from the stolen Toyota with the LoJack® Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the vehicle to a nearby shopping mall parking lot where the vehicle was found parked and undamaged.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2009, Toyota Tacoma Pickup, in September 29, 2012.
