The owners of a 2007 Lexus contacted NYPD’s 52nd precinct to report that their vehicle was stolen while parked on East 210th street in the Woodlawn section of the Bronx.

NYPD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers (NYSPIN/ NCIC) which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Lexus.

A short while later officers assigned to NYPD’s 52nd precinct picked up the silent LoJack® homing signals from the stolen Lexus with the LoJack® Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked and located the unoccupied vehicle parked on the 3000 block of Reservoir Oval West the confines of the Bronx’s 52nd precinct. Surveillance was setup for several hours with negative results.  The owner was eventually contacted and the undamaged vehicle was returned to a very happy owner at the recovery location.

The LoJack®System was installed in the Lexus LS-460 in September 2007.
