When his Subaru Outback was stolen from his employer’s parking lot recently, this Las Vegas, NV resident was grateful that he had decided to have the LoJack® system installed when he purchased his SUV. With LoJack’s help, it took local police just over an hour and a half after activation to recover the Outback.

On May 11th, 2014, the Subaru’s owner contacted the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department to report their vehicle stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack unit concealed in the Outback, which was installed at Subaru of Las Vegas, NV.

A short while later, LVMP officers picked up the silent homing signals from the stolen SUV with the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The Subaru was located near the intersection of Boise Street and Long Avenue, where it was found parked and abandoned. The intact Outback was soon returned to its rightful owner.
