The owners of a Mercedes-Benz CL500 were upset to discover their vehicle was missing on a recent Thursday in Fresno, CA. Because their car had been protected with the LoJack® system when it was purchased, local law enforcement, assisted by LoJack, were able to recover the CL500 quickly, safely, and without any damage.

On June 12th, 2014, the owner of the Mercedes contacted the Fresno Police Department and reported that their vehicle had been stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure which automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the CL500, which was installed at Brandywine Motor Cars in West Chester, PA.

The next morning, investigators from Fresno HEAT (the Fresno County Auto Theft Task Force) picked up the silent homing signals from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their undercover vehicles. The investigators located the Mercedes in a residential area near Griffith and West, where it was found parked and abandoned. After a brief surveillance, the undamaged CL500 was retrieved and soon returned to its happy owners.
