The owner of a 2009 Lexus LX 570 double parked his SUV in upper Manhattan, NY and left the keys in it. When he returned, the vehicle was gone. The LoJack® system that was installed at purchase proved its worth by helping local law enforcement recover the LX 570 later that same day.

On June 10th, 2014, the owner of the Lexus contacted the NYPD 33rd Precinct to report their vehicle was stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the NYSPIN and NCIC state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the LX 570, which was installed at Lexus of Rockville Centre, NY.

A short while later, officers from the NYPD Bronx Auto Larceny Unit picked up the silent homing signals from the stolen SUV on the LoJack tracking Computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The Lexus was found inside a commercial parking garage on Cedar Ave., parked and unoccupied. Police retrieved the undamaged LX 570, valued at $48,525, and soon returned it to its very satisfied owner.
