The LoJack® system is well known for assisting law enforcement in making fast, safe recoveries of stolen cars, trucks, vans and motorcycles. In this case, a Lexus IS300 stolen from its owner’s home in Williams, CA is found by local police, with help from LoJack, in less than 10 minutes after activation.

On May 31st, 2014, the owner of the Lexus contacted the California Highway Patrol to report that their vehicle was stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the IS300, which was installed at Mossy Nissan in Escondido, CA.

Just a few minutes later, deputies with the Sacramento SD and officers with Sacramento Police and Citrus Heights Police all began to pick up the silent homing signals from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The Lexus was located near the intersection of Fruitridge and 29th Streets, where it was found parked and abandoned. Police retrieved the IS300 and quickly returned it to its appreciative owner.
