On a recent Monday, the owners of a Ford F-250 in Ventura, CA, discovered their truck was missing from their driveway. Thanks to the LoJack® system that was installed inside the pickup, local law enforcement recovered it later that same day.

On April 28th, 2014, the Ford’s owners contacted the Ventura Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the F-250.

A short time later, patrol officers from Ventura PD picked up the silent homing signals from the stolen truck on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The Ford was located in a residential area near Fair Point Ave and Sunridge Drive, where it was parked and abandoned. Investigators from VENCATTS (Ventura County Auto Theft Task Force) responded to the location and took over the investigation. The F-250 was retrieved and quickly returned to its relieved owners.
