Vehicle:           2006 Honda Accord
Activation:      Houston Police Department, Houston, TX
Recovery:        Harris County Sheriff’s Office, Houston, TX
Dealership:      Scott Robinson Honda, Torrance, CA

The owner of a 2006 Honda Accord contacted the Houston PD to report his vehicle stolen. The owner parked in his apartment parking lot and when he returned, found it missing. The Houston PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Honda.

A short while later detectives from the Harris Co SO picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Honda with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the detectives tracked the stolen Honda to a repair shop on the E Hardy Toll Road in Houston. Detectives found the stolen Honda inside the shop. The Honda’s true vehicles identification number tag (VIN) had been removed and replaced with a false one. Detectives also found a stolen Inferno steam cleaner and a stolen TAO scooter. The suspect was not at the location and only known by his nickname. This is an ongoing investigation. The collateral recovery value is $32,000.00.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Honda Accord in April 2007 at Scott Robinson Honda in Torrance, CA.
