A short while later officers from LAPD Hollenbeck Division picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Dodge Challenger with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.
Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers observed the vehicle driving south on Fickett Street from Caesar Chavez Avenue. They turned to follow the vehicle requesting back up when the vehicle pulled to the curb and stopped. The driver/suspect and passenger taken into custody without further incident. The officers conducted a field investigation and were told that by the driver that he had a disagreement with the owner, his girlfriend. He stated the friend left the vehicle and did not return, so he drove off in the vehicle and allegedly attempted to look for her. The driver/suspect arrested and later booked for driving a vehicle without owner’s permission, (a felony). The passenger arrested for an outstanding warrant and booked.
