The owner of a 2011 Ford F350 contacted the South Chicago Heights Police to report their vehicle stolen during a delivery they were making in the 12000 block of West 159th Street. The vehicle left unlocked and running before the theft. South Chicago Heights Police verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Ford F350.

Shortly later officers from the Illinois State Police and an NICB agent picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Ford with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the vehicle to the 1400 block of Bluff City Boulevard in Elgin.

Officers recovered the vehicle noticing new front-end damage. Police contacted owner to inform them of the vehicles recovery.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Ford F350 as a Commercial Installation.
