Recovery:       Fullerton PD, Fullerton, CA
Dealership:     Rusnak Porsche, Pasadena, CA

The owners of a 2006 Porsche contacted the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department to report their vehicle stolen. LASD Lakewood verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Porsche.

Only fourteen minutes later officers from Fullerton PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Porsche with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Porsche to a gas station in the city of Fullerton. When the officers arrived in the area, they located the Porsche parked near the gas pumps with the driver seated in the Porsche. Multiple officers approached the Porsche and were able to safely detain the driver. Upon questioning the driver admitted to the officers that he stole the Porsche while in Lakewood. The suspect did not elaborate on how he obtained the vehicle.

The officers arrested the suspect and recovered the undamaged Porsche.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Porsche Cayenne in February 2008 at Rusnak Porsche, Pasadena, CA.
