The owners of a 2007 Saturn Vue contacted the LAPD 77th St Division to report their vehicle stolen by “Car Jack”. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Saturn Vue.

A short while later officers from LAPD 77th St Division picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Saturn Vue with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.

Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the vehicle to an apartment building in the 6700 Block of 10th Ave. The officers drove to the rear of the apartment and observed the vehicle parked and occupied by one male. Back up was requested and the suspect was taken into custody without further incident. During the field investigation, the suspect gave conflicting statements. Officers arrested the offender and detained him in Juvenile Hall pending further investigation by Detectives. The undamaged vehicle released to the victim.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Saturn in March 2007 at Vue Auto Land in Los Angeles, CA.
