The owner of a 2016 Ford Transit Cargo Van contacted the Phoenix Police Department to report their vehicle stolen with the keys.  While the owner delivered packages for an online company, he left the vehicle running.  While he was out of the vehicle dropping off a package, unknown suspect(s) jumped into the Ford and drove off.  The Phoenix Police Department verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Ford.

Twenty-four minutes later, officers from the Glendale Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Ford with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the vehicle to area of 55th Avenue and Dailey Street in Glendale, approximately 3.5 miles from the Cargo Vans stolen location.

The Glendale Police Department officers located the stolen Ford unoccupied and backed into a parking spot at an apartment complex.  Police observed no suspects in the area.   Phoenix Police Department detectives responded and recovered the stolen Ford.  All the packages appeared to be in the vehicle.  The detectives processed the vehicle for evidence and returned the stolen Ford to the owner in good condition.  Detectives followed up on investigative leads and later arrested one female suspect.  Investigation continues.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Ford Transit Cargo Van in March 2016, at Star Ford, Glendale, California.
