LoJack System Helps the Tarrant Co Task Force Recover a Stolen Honda Accord Taken in Residential Burglary and Make Two Arrests

The
owners of a 2008 Honda Accord contacted the Tarrant Co SO to report their
vehicle stolen. The owners discovered
their home burglarized with the suspects taking their guns, clothing, jewelry,
luggage and this Honda Accord. The Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office verified the
theft and entered the vehicle information
into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Honda Accord.
A short while later detectives with the Tarrant Co Task Force picked up the
silent LoJack signal from the stolen Honda Accord with the LoJack Police
Tracking Computers (PTC) installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues
from the PTC, the detectives tracked the stolen Honda Accord to the 5500
block of NE Loop 820 where they found it parked at a motel.
Detectives
set up surveillance and observed two suspects walk up to the stolen Honda
Accord and put items in the trunk and back seat. The suspects then got into the front seat and
before they could drive off were stopped by the detectives. Detectives found a shotgun, a rifle, jewelry,
clothing and luggage in the stolen Honda Accord. All these items were taken in the
burglary. The two suspects were
arrested. The Honda Accord recovered in
good condition. The collateral recovery
value is $1800.00.
The LoJack® System was installed in the Honda Accord in September 2007 at Vandergriff
Honda in Arlington, TX.
