The owners of a 2015 Land Rover RRV contacted the Los Angeles Police Department Newton Division to report their vehicle stolen.  Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Land Rover RRV.

A short while later officers from LAPD Newton Division picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Land Rover RRV with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.

Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the vehicle to the area of Broadway and Slauson where they located the vehicle containing one male as it proceeded thru the intersection. Officers conducted a “Hi Risk” felony traffic stop at that area taking the driver into custody without further incident.

During the investigation at the scene, the officers were told that the suspect knew the car was stolen and had planned on selling it. It was discovered that the suspect had numerous prior arrests for vehicle theft and was on formal probation for Burglary,

The suspect was later booked for Grand Theft Auto. The vehicle later released to the victim.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Land Rover LLV at Anaheim Hills Jaguar/Land Rover in July 2015.
