The owners of a 2018 Ford Eco Sport contacted the San Diego Police Department to report their vehicle stolen in the city of San Diego. San Diego Police Department verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Ford.

At a later time, officers from San Diego Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Ford with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the vehicle to the 4900 block of Long Branch Avenue in the city of San Diego.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Ford Eco Sport in October 2018 at Santa Margarita Ford, Santa Margarita, California.
