The owners of a 2017 Bobcat Excavator contacted the Desoto Police Department to report their Bobcat stolen.  The owners left this Bobcat at a job site and when they returned found it missing.  Another 2015 Bobcat excavator stolen from the site was also equipped with LoJack.  The Desoto Police Department verified the thefts and entered the vehicles information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in both Bobcats.

A short while later deputies from the Kaufman County Sherriff’s Office picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Bobcat with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the deputies tracked the stolen 2017 Bobcat to the 10000 block of FM 3396 where they found it parked behind a house.  Parked next to it was the 2015 Bobcat.  The owner of the house told deputies that he bought both Bobcats after seeing them advertised on the computer.  He had a bill of sale.  This is an ongoing investigation. Both Bobcats recovered in good condition.

The LoJack® System was installed in both Bobcats in December 2017 as Commercial Installations.
