The owners of a Toyota 4Runner contacted the Denver Police Department to report their vehicle stolen from Downtown Denver.  A police officer verified the theft and had the vehicle information entered into the state and federal crime computers.  This routine action automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Toyota.

Five minutes later Denver police officers picked up the silent LoJack signals from the stolen Toyota with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTCs) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from their PTCs officer tracked the vehicle to a location over one-mile away from the theft location but still in Downtown Denver.

The 4Runner was recovered and returned to the very happy owners.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Toyota 4Runner in October 2009 at Grove Toyota, Engelwood, Colorado at the request of these same owners.
