The owner of a 2017 Ford F-250 pickup contacted the San Antonio PD to report his vehicle stolen.  The owner parked his vehicle at his apartment complex and when he returned to it found it missing. The owner had left a spare key in the center console.

The San Antonio PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Ford pickup.

A short while later officers from the San Antonio PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Ford pickup with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the stolen Ford pickup to the 13700 block of IH10W where they found it abandoned in a bank parking lot.  The Ford pickup was recovered in good condition.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Ford F-250 Pickup in January 2017 at Riata Ford in Austin, TX.
