The owner of a 2002 Ford F250, 4×4, Crew Cab pickup contacted the Foster City Police Department to report their vehicle stolen from the parking lot of their apartment complex on Catamaran Street.  The Foster City Police Department verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Ford truck.

A short while later, officers with the Oakland Police department were alerted to the  stolen Ford F250 by the silent LoJack signal received with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the stolen Ford truck was tracked to the parking lot of a business at International Boulevard and 81st Avenue where it was found unoccupied. While investigating the scene, a stolen 2006 Ford E250 van stolen from San Mateo was found parked on 81st Avenue near the stolen truck.

Both the stolen Ford F250 truck and Ford E250 van were recovered by Oakland PD and were towed/stored to be returned to their respective owners.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2002 Ford F250 truck for a prior customer in March of 2016 as a Direct Sale.
