The owner of a 2007 Nissan Murano contacted the Waukegan Department to report their vehicle stolen from the 3200 block of North Green Bay. He had left his vehicle running and unattended. Waukegan police verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Nissan.

A short while later a vehicle equipped with a LoJack Police Tracking Computer (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft picked up the silent LoJack signal from the Nissan. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the stolen Murano was located parked and unoccupied on the 1500 block of Alexander Court in Waukegan. Waukegan Police recovered the undamaged Nissan Murano, processed it for evidence and returned it to a grateful owner

The LoJack® System was installed in the Nissan Murano in November 2007 at Route 1 Nissan Woodbridge Township.
