The owner of a 2018 Ford Focus contacted the Austin Police Department to report his vehicle stolen.  The owner parked his vehicle in a parking garage leaving his car keys in the cup holder.  When he returned he found his vehicle missing. The Austin Police Department verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Ford.

A short while later officers from the Austin Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Ford with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the stolen Ford to the 3000 block of S.Lamar where they found it abandoned in a parking lot.  The Ford was recovered in good condition.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Ford Focus in November 2017 at Leif Johnson Ford in Austin, TX.
