An employee of Lithia Nissan of Clovis arrived at the dealership to discover that the business had been burglarized during the night. It was determined that the burglars had gained access to keys to a 2018 Dodge Challenger and stolen it from the lot. The dealership contacted the Clovis Police Department to report burglary and vehicle theft. The Clovis Police Department verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Challenger.

Several hours after the LoJack was activated an investigator with the Clovis Polices Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Challenger with the LoJack Police Tracking Computer (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the investigator tracked the vehicle to the vicinity of Lincoln and Sarah Avenues in southeast Fresno. The vehicle was located unoccupied parked in front of a residence. The investigator summoned assistance and initiated surveillance on the vehicle. Several hours passed whereupon an adult male approached and entered the vehicle. Officers converged on the vehicle and took the suspect into custody without incident. The suspect was arrested for vehicle theft and possession of stolen property.

The vehicle was recovered intact and undamaged; it was released to a dealership representative at the recovery scene.

The LoJack® System was installed in this Challenger in March 2018 by Lithia Nissan of Clovis in Clovis, California.
